There are all kinds of packaging in our lives, and these exquisite packaging come from the development of printing technology. There are different ways in printing. Hot stamping is already a very common part of printing, and the technology is also very mature. Below I will introduce you to five hot stamping methods. These five methods can all be used in printing, and each method has different characteristics. You can choose different hot stamping methods with different needs.
1. Flat ironing
Flat ironing is the most commonly used hot stamping method. Only the content that needs to be stamped will have metal, and the other places will be blank or printed content. The purpose of flat ironing is to highlight the stamping position. Compared with other hot stamping processes, flat ironing is less difficult and the probability of error is relatively low. In addition, since flat ironing is the simplest hot stamping process, it will consume less paper.
Anti-ironing is the opposite of flat ironing. Metal hollowing is used to highlight the white space, and the bronzing part is used as a foil. The usual method of anti- ironing is to surround the image and text to be highlighted with a large graphic, the surrounding graphics will be bronzed, and the image and text to be highlighted are hollowed out, thus forming an anti- ironing effect. When doing anti-ironing, if the foil area is large, the price will be higher. Moreover, the highlighted graphic lines should not be too thin, otherwise the effect of the finished product will be unsatisfactory. If you are using special paper for hot stamping, you need to consider the characteristics of the paper texture and so on. If the surface of the paper is not smooth, it is not recommended to use anti-ironing, because the fineness of large-area hot stamping is easily affected by the paper texture.
3. Stamping overlap
Stamping overlap is a processing technology that tests the skill of the workers. It is a clever combination of stamping and printing colors. The worker will do the printing first, and then do the hot stamping. The hot stamping process requires a high degree of accuracy of the position. This method is not only a test of the skill of the workers, but also a test of the designer's color matching skills.
4. Multicolor stamping
In order to highlight the graphics and text, many designers will hot stamp the same graphic twice or more. This is called multicolor stamping. This hot stamping method also requires a high-precision hot stamping method, which is similar to the stamping overlap method. When there are multiple colors to be hot stamped, you need to pay attention to the compatibility of the hot stamping position and gold foil.
5. Three-dimensional hot stamping
The combination of hot stamping and embossing processes is three-dimensional hot stamping, which makes the part of the hot stamping bulge and forms a three-dimensional relief effect. However, it should be noted that the back of the three-dimensional hot stamping will have a concave effect, so remember to leave the back side blank when designing, otherwise the graphics or text will be affected.
